Episode 23 - Agenda + Ego = Entitlement

July 09, 2020

In this episode, Chris and Andre talk pop culture/cancel culture, spend an inordinate amount of time on politics, chat about food, spend some time on technology, and close things out with some blanket insults.

(00:00:24) Intros - Chris and Andre decide they are going to change things up a bit this week and talk about stuff instead of their normal coverage of things.

(00:01:40) Pop Culture - The guys start off dipping their toes in the pop culture pool by discussing the charges brought against former co-star of Netflix’s The Ranch, Danny Masterson, what annoys them about social media this week, and political cartoons going by the wayside.

(00:26:29) Politics - Chris shares some feedback from his dad about the show’s recent attacks on Trump and Andre responds, Americans worship the “American god” and not God of the Bible, Trump is a reflection of where America’s values are, Chris says Americans are like Goldfish, NASCAR finds a noose in Bubba Wallace’s garage stall and people protest not being able to fly a loser flag, Florida man fights his way into Walmart, the guys talk about life experiences and the selfishness of people.

The guys talk about how crazy it is that leagues are still trying to have/finish their seasons, talk about a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Podcast, the dangers of cherrypicking information and sources, Chris gets really philosophical for a minute, the guys can’t help but talk about Donald (Insert Silly J Name Here) Trump and whether or not they can call C.P.S. on the White House.

The guys continue the Politics conversation talking about the unemployment rate, Andre says it will take an act of God which makes Chris ask if we’re due for another Flood, and the guys ask “Where is the plan out of this?”

(01:30:14) Cooking/Food - The guys finally get off their politics/economy rant to talk about some food! Chris and Andre share recent take-out successes and failures with a particular Asian bent, Chris shares his Father’s Day dining experience, Andre still loves the Vegan Community Kitchen in Apex, Starbucks adds an Impossible breakfast sandwich which leads Andre to share his hate for all things Starbucks, the guys give a shoutout to COMMON GROUNDS Coffee House in Apex, NC !

Chris shares his first time trying Beyond “Brats” and why he wants to give them a second chance, Andre’s daughter made him awesome vegan waffles, and the guys reminisce about food’s they still kinda miss.

(01:45:11) Technology - Andre makes a perfect segue into technology and the guys discuss the recent news from the Apple Developer Conference including the move to ARM processors and them breaking up with Intel, Chris asks if Americans are willing to sacrifice cheap products to help fix our economy and says we are where we are because we weren’t willing to pay for the American middle class, while Andre says that unions played a key role.

The guys spend some time talking about how uncapitalistic the American economy truly is, Chris says Robert Downey Jr. got it right in Tropic Thunder, the guys get back into politics (because of course they do), Chris decides to (once again) insult and call out an entire group of people while talking about Kayleigh McEnany.

(02:14:39) That’s a wrap! - The guys decide to cut things off at two hours and fifteen minutes this week (sorry!) and look forward to seeing you next week! Send us your podcast recommendations (including your own!) so we can check them out!
